Salaver Clinics Acne Facial
Salaver Clinics follows Guidelines (CPG) to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment for acne-prone skin. This facial is designed to reduce active acne, control oil production, unclog pores, and promote skin healing while minimizing irritation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
Step-by-Step Protocol
1. Pre-Treatment Assessment
• Conduct skin analysis to determine acne severity (mild, moderate, or severe).
• Check for contraindications, including active infections, rosacea, or recent use of retinoids.
• Discuss the patient’s current skincare routine and adjust if necessary.
2. Cleansing & Prepping the Skin
• Use a medical-grade, oil-free cleanser containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil and bacteria.
• Gently exfoliate using enzymes or mild AHA/BHA cleansers to unclog pores and remove dead skin.
• Steam the face (5-7 minutes) to open pores and soften comedones for easier extraction.
3. Extractions (If Necessary)
• Manual or gentle suction extraction of blackheads and whiteheads under sterile conditions to avoid inflammation.
• High-frequency therapy may be applied to disinfect and reduce post-extraction inflammation.
4. Acne-Focused Treatment Applications
• Chemical Peel (Optional, Based on Acne Severity):
• Salicylic Acid (BHA) 20-30% for deep pore penetration.
• Mandelic or Glycolic Acid (AHA) 10-20% for mild exfoliation and brightening.
• Azelaic Acid 10-20% for reducing redness and hyperpigmentation.
• LED Light Therapy (Blue Light 415nm): Kills acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes) and reduces inflammation.
5. Hydration & Skin Barrier Repair
• Apply an oil-free, non-comedogenic serum with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, or ceramides to soothe the skin.
• Use a lightweight, anti-inflammatory moisturizer (containing Centella Asiatica, aloe vera, or panthenol).
6. Sun Protection & Post-Care Advice
• Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
• Educate the patient on post-facial care:
• Avoid touching or picking at the skin.
• Use only gentle cleansers and non-comedogenic moisturizers.
• Avoid harsh exfoliants, retinoids, or strong active ingredients for at least 3-5 days.
Recommended Frequency
• Mild Acne: Once every 2-4 weeks.
• Moderate Acne: Every 2 weeks with alternating treatments (chemical peels, LED therapy).
• Severe Acne: Requires dermatologic intervention before facial treatments.
Combination Treatments for Enhanced Results
• Oral or Topical Acne Medications (as prescribed by a doctor).
• DPL (Dynamic Pulsed Light) or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy for acne scars and post-inflammatory redness.
• Hydrafacial with Salicylic Acid for deep pore cleansing.
